What do you rent?
GoSilver is an Airstream specialist. Polished aluminum travel trailers, the floor plans that actually matter when you are choosing one, and the trucks to pull them, so not owning a tow vehicle is never the end of the conversation.
Airstream travel trailers. Nineteen trailers running 16 to 30 feet, sleeping four to eight, across the Sport, Base Camp, Caravel, Bambi, Flying Cloud, Globetrotter, International and Pottery Barn floor plans. Nightly rates run $179 to $390 depending on the unit and the season.
Tow vehicles. Two trucks available at $160 a night, rented alongside a trailer for anyone whose own vehicle cannot tow, or who would rather not put the miles on it. If you are not sure what yours can pull, we will work it out with you before you book.
Delivery instead. If you would rather not tow at all, we bring the trailer to you, level it, hook it up and collect it when you are done.
How much does it cost to rent an Airstream?
Airstream rentals across the country run roughly $90 to $400 per night depending on size, season, and how the trailer is equipped. GoSilver rates run from $179 to $390 per night depending on the trailer, and the live rate for your dates is shown above. Two nights is the suggested minimum, and on the 22 foot trailers and smaller a single night works, because they turn around faster.
What is different about the GoSilver number is what it already includes. Every rental comes with the kitchen stocked, bedding on the main bed, towels, camp chairs, a weight-distributing hitch, and 24/7 roadside and technical support. Renters on the marketplaces often pay a base rate and then add all of that back, one line at a time.
How booking works: a deposit of 50% or $500 holds the trailer in your name and is applied to your rental. The balance is due 14 days before departure. A Support and Protection package, priced at 25% of the base rental, covers insurance and roadside assistance and is included with every rental. Cancel within 24 hours of booking for a full refund.
What is included in a GoSilver Airstream rental?
Everything you need to camp except your clothes and your food. Each trailer goes out with:
- Kitchen: dishes, utensils, silverware, pots and pans, baking trays, coffee maker, toaster, wine opener
- Bedding for the main bed, sleeping bags available for the other beds
- Kitchen and bath towels
- Cleaning basics: broom and dustpan, dish soap, paper towels, spray cleaner, toilet paper
- RV essentials: wheel chocks, fresh water hose and pressure regulator, sewer hose, leveling blocks, 30-to-20 amp adapter
- Weight-distributing hitch where required
- Camping chairs at no charge, ask at pickup
Optional add-ons at checkout: a portable generator, and the Platinum Service Package, which means you hand the trailer back without cleaning it, filling propane, or dumping tanks.
What size Airstream should I rent?
Our fleet runs from 16 to 30 feet and sleeps four to eight, in Sport, Base Camp, Caravel, Bambi, Flying Cloud, Globetrotter, International and Pottery Barn floor plans, with several units in the most popular sizes so families and groups can book matching trailers. A couple is comfortable in a 16 to 23 foot trailer; a family of four wants 25 feet or more; the 30-foot Flying Cloud Bunk sleeps a large family with a queen bed, a full bed, and a bunk.
If you are not sure, call. Sizing renters correctly is the thing our shop manager, Jose, is best known for, and at pickup he will show you the next size up so you can see the difference for yourself. Size is often decided by what your vehicle can tow, unless you rent a tow vehicle from us alongside the trailer.
Can you deliver the Airstream to my campsite?
Yes. We tow the trailer to your campsite, your driveway, your venue, or your event, level it, hook it up, walk you through it, and pick it up when you are done. Delivery is the most popular option for renters who do not own a tow vehicle or simply want the trip to start when they arrive. There is no delivery radius: if you can camp there, we can bring the trailer to you, and we can deliver several units to the same place when a group needs them. Delivery is quoted per trip, based on mileage, time and location. Yosemite, Lake Tahoe, the Sierra foothills, the coast from Santa Cruz to Big Sur, and Bay Area driveways for holiday guests are the runs we make most.
Can my vehicle tow an Airstream?
Probably, if it is rated for the trailer’s weight and has a brake controller and a 7-pin connector. The rule we use: stay within 80% of your vehicle’s maximum towing capacity, so a truck or SUV rated for 10,000 pounds tows a trailer up to 8,000 pounds. Tow-vehicle requirements are listed on each trailer above.
Not sure? Stop by the lot one to two weeks before your trip and we will test your brake controller and connector at no charge. If your vehicle has no brake controller, portable controllers are available to rent. If it cannot tow the trailer you want, our 2024 Ford F-250 Super Duty is available to rent alongside it.
Do I need a special license or RV experience to rent?
No. A standard California driver’s license covers trailers up to 10,000 pounds, and every Airstream in our fleet is under that. Most of our renters have never towed before. At pickup we walk you through hitching, unhitching, setup, and every system in the trailer, and if a question comes up on the road, help is a phone call away, 24 hours a day.
Where can I take the rental?
Anywhere in the continental United States and Canada. Mexico is not permitted by our insurance. Alaska and northern Canada are permitted with a per-mile road fee. Closer to home, the trips our renters take most are Yosemite, Lake Tahoe, the Sierra lakes and campgrounds, the coast from Santa Cruz to Big Sur, and the redwoods. Our destination guides cover the campgrounds we know first-hand, with drive times from Lathrop.
Renting in winter is welcome, including ski trips, and we will walk you through keeping the plumbing safe in freezing weather.
Can I rent an Airstream for a month, or for an event?
Yes. Extended reservations are available for long trips, on-site offices and sales space, guest quarters at your home, and off-grid stays, Monthly stays start at $5,000 and go up depending on the trailer you choose, before taxes and fees, and rentals of seven nights or longer take 5 percent off the nightly rate automatically. For events, we stage multiple matching units, deliver and set them up, and can provide on-site support for the duration, and those are quoted for the job.
Is it cheaper to book direct?
Yes. Booking here means you pay our rate with no marketplace fees added on top, you get the same fully outfitted trailer, and you talk to the people who own and maintain it. The listing sites are a fine place to find us; this page is the best place to book us.
